While talkin' 'bout STAR WARS...

  1. That's "Expanded Universe", which proves that at least some of us know what they're talkin' about.

    1. Technically it's "Star Wars Legends" now.

    2. Technically it's something I never heard about before under any name and don't care about either.

Star Wars ended in 1980. Everything since Empire is a just a stupid lie.

  2. Bonus points if his friend was talking about the prequels.

  4. What's a guy who has no clue what the Expanded Universe doing in a comic book store? Seriously, he should just turn in his nerd card right now. He probably thinks Midi-Chlorians are a good idea.

    1. Nobody cares about the expanded universe. The truth is, there are more people who enjoyed and like the prequels (midichlorians, Jar-Jar Binks and everything else) than people who even know what the expanded universe is. I'm not saying it's great or that you have to like it, but that's the truth of the matter (and that's why they're killing the expanded universe).

    2. Because plenty of people who read comics have no interest in that terrible shit.

  5. Ouch. For once it *is* true. Pity. Although I never read much past Heir to the Empire and a few other random bits. To be honest the Yuuzhan Vong (or however it's spelled) and small world syndrome helped things stay that way.

  6. The thing is, some EU books are actually *better* than the movies.
The problem is, for every good EU book there are ten bad ones...

  7. i'd be fine with star wars canon being trimmed down to just the essentials. namely: wilford brimley, bea arthur, john lithgow, dearth nadir, and hoojibs. screw all that other expanded mumbo jumbo.
