I criticized Ledger being cast a whole bunch, as I saw him as a pretty boy whose main famous role was an overhyped look-how-sensitive-we-are Oscar bait flick. Then I saw the first trailer. I learned my lesson. Apparently I was the only one.
The lesson was available even earlier. When it was announced that Michael Keaton was going to play Batman, a lot of people reacted badly. Then people saw the movie and realized that, first, Keaton was (and is) a really good actor, and, second, that whoever plays Batman also has to play Bruce Wayne, and that Keaton was perfect for that role. He could seem superficial and air-headed one moment and then turn on the intensity. I think Ben Affleck will be good for the same reason.
Incidentally, I thought that was a serious flaw in Christian Bale's portrayal. He couldn't turn off the intensity, so it was impossible to buy him as shallow playboy Bruce Wayne.
He should try and talk to his friends about lottery numbers, if they're all able to see into the future and review a movie that isn't out yet.

The guy has a good point though - why wouldn't we all love to not have that conversation?
